Privacy

When you open a page here, the site stores:

• Your IP address.
• An approximate location derived from that address, usually a city and region, sometimes only a country. This is an estimate from the address alone and is often wrong, especially on mobile networks or a VPN.
• The page that linked you here, including its path but never its query string.
• Your browser, operating system and device type.
• What you did on the page: how far you scrolled, how long you stayed, which projects or images you opened, and whether you clicked an email, résumé or social link.
• A short code from the link you followed, if it carried one. Links are sometimes tagged so it is possible to tell which shared link was opened.

• Nothing is stored on your device. No cookies are set, and no identifier follows you to any other website.
• Your name and email address are not collected, and there is no service in use that attempts to look them up. If you want me to know who you are, email me.
• Query strings from referring links are discarded before storage.
• Nothing is shared with, sold to, or sent to any analytics or advertising company. The data is stored on infrastructure I run and is readable only by me.

Per-visit records, including the IP address, are deleted automatically 90 days after the visit. This is enforced by an expiry set on the data itself, not by a routine that has to remember to run.

Aggregate counts (how many views a day, which countries, which referrers) are kept longer, and contain no address and nothing that can be traced to one person.

I send links to this site to specific people: recruiters, clients, collaborators. Knowing that a link was opened, and roughly by whom, is the point. It is the same information a server log would hold; the difference is that this page tells you it exists.

Email enzo@becloser.co and I will delete the records for your address, or tell you what is held. No account or verification is needed. Just describe roughly when you visited.

You can also avoid the record entirely: it is written by JavaScript, so blocking scripts for this domain, or any tracker-blocking extension, prevents it. The site works normally without it.
